Princeton Record Exchange...Over the last year or so, we've been getting numerous requests to beef up our classical LP section. It is always difficult to allocate space to please everyone, but we've listened and have been experimenting with adding many lower-priced records to our stock. They have been selling well, so we've been keeping an eye out for good quality collections, and we are pleased to announce a great one today chock full of audiophile recordings./nFor those not in the know, these types of records were mainly produced in the late fifties through the seventies generally using all-tube recording equipment on high-quality virgin vinyl. They are sought after as much for their sonic qualities as for their performances. Some folks think these are the perfect media to showcase their premium stereo systems./nThis collection includes some RCA Shaded Dogs, Mercury SRs, and other miscellaneous audiophiles, but the vast majority of the titles are British imports, primarily EMI's. Generally identified by the prefixes of the catalog numbers, there are hundreds of ASD's, ESD's, SXLP's, dozens of the SLS box sets, and many others. There is also a healthy dose of Lyrita's and many Deccas, although mostly Holland pressings and the later narrow band labels./nWhile extensive in its scope, this collection does not have a lot of the stratospheric-priced rarities. There are about 15 or so in the $25 -$40 range, but the rest are from $2.99 to $14.99. If you're looking to see what the fuss is about audiophile recordings or want to give your new stereo a good test drive, it's a great time to stock up./nPlease note that we are a bricks-and-mortar, walk-in store only: sorry, no shipping./nPrinceton Record Exchange
