PLANT A TREE 9/11 is my song of remembrance, resilience, and hope. A tree begins with something almost invisible, a seed planted in the earth, with no promise that we will ever see the branches it becomes. Yet we plant it anyway. We plant for those who came before us, for those we lost, and for those who will come after us.
In this song, planting a tree becomes a powerful metaphor for planting kindness, courage, family, generosity, caring, sharing, and love into the world. Every good deed becomes another root; every act of compassion becomes another branch; every life touched becomes another leaf reaching toward the light.
Plant A Tree 9/11 reminds us that we cannot change yesterday, but we can shape tomorrow. We honor the thousands of lives lost by choosing to live with greater purpose, to grow families, strengthen communities, help one another, and never allow hatred to have the final word. We "plant a seed we may never see" become a tree because that is what hope asks of us. We remember. We care. We share. We grow. And we never forget. I was in downtown NYC just blocks away from this dire and dark day for our country. Stories are many, grateful hearts are many too.
