Trenton, NJ (Mercer) In celebrating the National Hispanic Heritage month, our first Hispanic female Trenton Police Communication Chief Grace Cruz-Acosta was interviewed. Chief Grace Cruz-Acosta was born in Paterson New Jersey, the third youngest of nine siblings. She came to Trenton at the age of 6yrs old, and was raised here. Her father from Puerto Rico a carpenter came here in 1953, and her mother took care of the home arriving from Costa Rica in 1963. She praised her parents and siblings for the strong support and love, part of her drive and connection to the delivery of her duties. The Chief is proud of her Hispanic roots and grateful to contribute to history. She was clear radio technology needs updating for public safety reasons, and had faith the City will move forward in resolving current serious concerns. The Chief ended the interview with a grateful heart , feeling blessed and honor to serve the City she loves as Chief of the Trenton Police Communication Department. We wish her well and celebrate with her the National Hispanic Heritage Month. Thank you Chie
