I create fine art and jewelry. I paint every day objects and conditions in a way to make them emotionally meaningful. One of the ways in which I accomplish this is to use bright colors when representing nature and nature's animals and birds, in place of the more inherent earth tones. My preferred manner of painting is realistic with, more recently, a surrealistic bent, such as in my allegory paintings. I paint a mixture of artistic subjects, including story based, bird and animal, landscape and architectural, still life, and figurative paintings. My paint mediums are normally acrylic polymer based and oil, occasionally with mixed media. I create handmade jewelry because I love the beauty of the materials: the beads, metal, glass, and polymer clay. I love the colors of the different beads and crystals, especially the Swarovski Aurora Borealis crystals and multicolor seed beeds. There is a zen to working with beads, clay, and glass that transfers to the challenges of design. I wish the collector who is decorated by my jewelry to feel elegant modelling it. I strive to create jewelry that are quite unlike the other jewelry, unlike artworks that are all similar to the other jewelry excepting bead selection. This technique adds a upscale nature to my jewelry and continues my interest in it.
