The Princeton Nassoons
Album: Nassoons 2014
Song: Shambala
Soloist: Yacob Yonas '15
For Intersession 2013, the Nassoons got as far away from the campus of Princeton University as possible by flying to the other side of the world, ending up in Hong Kong! The week was filled with great performances at schools (as you can see in the video, we taught the Canadian International School's Choir our very own arrangement of "Shambala"), country clubs, private events, a live show on the radio, and even a Princeton Aspire event where we sang alongside then President of Princeton University Shirley Tilghman! However, we left more than enough time to explore the city, allowing us to see a Giant Buddha sitting on a mountain, experience the nightlife in Lan Kwai Fong, scrape the sky at Victoria's Peak, and haggle with street vendors at Kowloon's night market. Our free day took us to Macau to see the 600 year old A-Ma Buddhist Temple, the ruins of the old Portuguese St. Paul's Cathedral, and the Venetian Casino, where some of our seniors played roulette amongst the world's most formidable gamblers. It was a great week and we hope to return in the next few years.
