Composed by Christopher Deane, "Scavenger Music" is scored for percussion quintet playing found object instruments that the students themselves selected and constructed, based on the instructions in the score./nThis performance is by the Youth Orchestra of Central Jersey Percussion Ensemble (ages 13-17) which is directed by Peter Saleh and is based in the Princeton area./nL to R: Nikhil Dondapati, Ben Cornavaca, Azhad Syed, Curren Tipnis, Michael Foley/nThe students in this audition based ensemble rehearse once a week from October through May and play in Orchestra and Wind Ensemble in addition to chamber music at every rehearsal./nVisit PeterSaleh.com for more info on percussion education in New Jersey.
