Winfrey made her acting debut in director Steven Spielberg's film "The Color Purple" and starred in the critically acclaimed film "Beloved" and in numerous made-for-television movies. As chairman of Harpo, Inc. and Harpo Films, Inc. as well as other production companies, Winfrey has produced a number of award-winning films. She has taught at Northwestern University's business school.
