I signed legislation requiring data centers to report their energy and water use to the Board of Public Utilities every six months.

We’re also requiring data centers to pay their own electric bills, giving towns the tools to demand real investments in their communities, and ensuring these projects create good-paying jobs for New Jerseyans.

We don’t have to choose between innovation and accountability. We’re giving power back to communities – and making sure data centers work for us, instead of the other way around.
