- The Palmer Square Facilities elves start prepping for the holidays as early as September
- The light strings used to cover the 65-ft spruce tree are so long that they have to be stretched out in the steam tunnels beneath Palmer Square—giving the elves enough space to count each and every bulb.
- The tree is covered with 3 ½ miles of lights, that’s 32,000 bulbs!!
It takes three whole days to drape the lights on the spruce tree.
