On July 8, 1776 the first three public readings of the Declaration of Independence took place in Trenton, Philadelphia, and Easton, Pa. What did this event mean for the city of Trenton in 1776, and what does its ideals of freedom, equality, and liberty mean for us today? In this episode of Meet Trenton, David Brown, assistant director at the John H. Pace, Jr. '39 Center for Civic Engagement, speaks with David Niescior, a historical interpreter, tailor, and carpenter with the Old Barracks Museum, in Trenton, NJ and Algernon Ward, an activist, community organizer, and reenactor with the 1st Rhode Island Regiment.
