At Grounds For Sculpture, MacArthur Genius Joyce J. Scott uses beads, glass, fabric, and even dirt in her new exhibition: "Joyce J. Scott: Harriet Tubman and Other Truths." (10/20/2017-4/1/2018) Joyce describes her journey as an artist from making quilts with her mother to making monumental sculptures of Harriet Tubman at Grounds For Sculpture. This video portrait visits the "mad scientist" artist at her studio in Baltimore, and chronicles her career as a groundbreaking black woman artist. A longer version of this story can be seen on the Grounds For Sculpture website. Produced by Keith Pyatt for Grounds For Sculpture.
