Every student in the Middle School is introduced to the fundamentals of speech and debate. We believe that teaching debate in the Middle School, particularly at this stage of cognitive development, is critical to helping students transition from concrete comprehension to abstract thinking. All Middle School students participate in the year-long debate tournament, which yields a champion each spring.

Additionally, the Garden State Debate League Club (GSDL) gives those students who self-identify as competitive debaters further opportunities for speech and debate competition.
