Are you looking for a pet friendly destination where you can take the whole family. In my opinion one the best dog friendly towns is Princeton New Jersey. I may be a little biased since I live only 10 minutes away but Princeton is a fantastic place to visit especially with your dog. I love to walk through Palmer Square and Nassau Street, and stroll through the campus at Princeton University
with my dogs. There are tons of amazing restaurants, although you can't bring the dogs inside the restaurants but if you get something to go there are plenty of chairs, tables and benches throughout Princeton where you can sit and enjoy. Witherspoon Grill is very dog friendly, they have outdoor seating for you and your pup and they will even bring Fido a bowl of water.
There are two wine stores where you can do wine tasting and they've always welcomed my dogs and I with a smile. I have even taken my dogs into the Beautiful Princeton University Chapel. If you decide to visit Princeton without your dog I would recommend visiting the art museum at the University (it's free), The Morven Museum & Garden and The Bainbridge Museum where you can see Albert Einstein's furniture collection.
