The Bucks County Choral Society is one of the premier symphonic choirs in the Northeastern United States. This year the choral society is celebrating its 40th anniversary with grand, dramatic and powerful live performances at its new venue the beautiful Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in Buckingham, PA. BCCS is an auditioned choir of over 100 voices. What remains of this concert season is our April 7th performance of the operatic Verdi Requiem. On June 1st the choral society will celebrate with the presentation of our 40th Anniversary concert titled “Thrilling Fugues and Lyrical Canons!
Celebrating soaring music of the past, present and future. This will include fugues from Messiah, Elijah, and Beethoven's Missa Solemnis. Lyrical canons from the requiems of Faure and Durufle as well as commissioned music by Robert Maggio, Jay Fluellen, and Thomas Lloyd featuring soprano soloist Jane Kamp. It will also include Duke Ellington's "Ain't But the One" with soloists DeVonne Gardner and Jay Fluellen as well as Roland Carter's spiritual "In Bright Mansions". The concert will also introduce the Bucks County Choral Society’s “Singing for Seniors Festival Choir” composed of over 100 voices from our “Singing for Seniors” outreach program.
