Lucianne Walkowicz, a Henry Norris Russell Fellow in the Department of Astrophysical Sciences at Princeton University studies exoplanets.
Exoplanets are Earth-like planets that have the conditions to sustain life.
The properties in the habitable zone include its proximity to the sun, which would give it a surface temperature that would make it possible for liquid water to exist.
To accomplish her research, Walkowicz uses Kepler data to determine when a planet is passing its parent star.
