In October 2012, my friend, Shawon, and I led ten Princeton students on a week-long civic engagement trip in Houston, TX to learn about the juvenile justice system. This video reflects on our experiences, student civic engagement, and our journey to fulfill Princeton's unofficial motto, "In the Nation's Service and in the Service of All Nations."/nRead about our experiences on our trip blog at http://breakouthouston.tumblr.com/nThe Breakout Princeton program is a student-led civic engagement program that gives Princeton students the opportunity to travel to a community in America and learn about a social issue first-hand. Each trip is one week long, takes place during Fall or Spring Break, and is completely planned, led, and coordinated by students for students.
