Dr. Cornel West is a prominent and provocative democratic intellectual. He is a Professor of Philosophy and Christian Practice at Union Theological Seminary and Professor Emeritus at Princeton University. He has also taught at Yale, Harvard, and the University of Paris. He made his film debut in the Matrix -- and was the commentator (with Ken Wilbur) on the official trilogy released in 2004./nIn part one of Dr. West's contribution to the Blues for Smoke interviews, Dr. West argues that the Blues is not about triumph as much as it is about resistance and survival. He educates the viewer on pain that became the Blues of one Blind Willie Johnson. West claims that at the center of the Blues is an individual yearning to find one's voice./nTalent: Dr. Cornel West
