What creates a community? The Westminster Choir explored the concept of community through the Giving Voice to Community project that examined the community created by the performers and audience at a performance./nHere's how it worked....Before each concert audience members and choir members were asked to choose one word that represented them as they joined the concert "community." They wrote the word on a piece of paper and were photographed. After the concert all of the photographs were displayed outside of the concert hall./nThis video is one of three that combines those photographs with excerpts from the music performed at the concerts -- an archive of the choir's performances and the communities that were created by the artists and the audience at each venue./nLearn more at http://www.rider.edu/givingvoice.
Performances were in Princeton, N.J.; Quakertown, Pa.; Nashville and Knoxille, Tenn., Oxford, Miss; Atlanta, Ga.; Birmingham, Ala. and Charleston, W.V.
